The comprehensive modernisation of North/Ogrodowa Street, involved the reconstruction of the entire boulevard. New pavements, carriageway and, of course, the tram track were created. Several types of rail construction were used on the 650 m long section. These range from sleepers set on longitudinal footings, through a wet-laid substructure slab to prefabricated slabs. The latter were used on the section where, during demolition work, the channel through which the river bed was routed was exposed. Both the wet-mix and precast slabs were laid on Epufloor vibration isolation mats.
